Federal government shutdowns pose a direct threat to the safety and continuity of the national airspace system. When funding lapses occur, ADF serves as a communication hub for the dispatcher community — providing timely updates on FAA and ATC operational status, advising dispatchers to exercise additional vigilance, and monitoring developments in Congress to keep members informed until normal government operations resume.
